Nut-Berry Porridge

Nuts and berries are one of the most loved combinations in any breakfast or dessert. This is a blueprint on how to include both to cook a delicious porridge

  1. Soften half of the cherries in a pot
  2. Cook oatmeal
  3. Add ground nuts
  4. Top with remaining berries and nut-butter

Notes & Substitutions:

  • obviously, use any combination of nuts and berries (peanut-strawberry, cashew-blueberry, pistachio-raspberry)
  • If you don’t have ground nuts available, crush them or blend them in a food processor
  • Use different nuts for whole ones and nut butter

Nut-Berry Porridge

An almond-cherry oatmeal serving as a blueprint for any nut-berry porridge recipe.

Zutaten
  

  • 75 g rolled oats
  • 200 ml hot water
  • 100-200 ml plant milk *
  • 150 g frozen berries
  • 1-2 tablespoon nuts *
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 pich salt
  • 1 tablespoon nut butter
  • 1 scoop protein powder + plant milk optional

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, soak the oats with hot water. In the meantime, cook half of the berries in a pot on medium heat until soft.
  2. Mash the berries slightly and add oats, plant milk and maple syrup. Cook the oats to the desired consistency, add a pinch of salt and optionally protein powder + plant milk.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add the remaining berries and drizzle over the nut butter.

  • Amount depends on soaking time and desired consistency
  • Ideally, use ground nuts. If you have whole nuts, crush or blend them
